Action playbook

Reduce tracking on this vehicle

Work top to bottom. Soft controls first, then OEM deactivation requests, then legal privacy requests.

  1. 01

Open the Toyota app Data Privacy Portal

Sign in, open your profile, go to Account → Data Privacy Portal, and review sale/share and sensitive-data settings for your vehicle.

    Toyota Connected Services privacy notice
  2. 02

Opt out of Insure Connect (if shown)

In Data Privacy Portal → your vehicle → Insure Connect → Manage Consent → Decline.

  3. 03

Request Connected Services / data-transmission deactivation

Use the in-car SOS button or Toyota app support path to request deactivation so location, driving, and vehicle-health telemetry stop being collected for connected services.

  4. 04

Skip phone pairing or factory-reset before sale

Do not sync contacts if you can avoid it. Before selling or trading in, remove accounts and factory-reset the infotainment system.

  5. 05

    Submit a state privacy request

If you live in a state with consumer privacy rights, send opt-out, limit, and deletion requests using our letter generator.
